**Full title**: *Level 4 Award in Teaching Fundamentals*

**Purpose**:  
A structured introduction to school-based education roles. This award helps those new to the sector build confidence, develop professional behaviours, and establish the foundations of effective classroom support.

**Ideal for**:

- New support staff (Teaching Assistants, Cover Supervisors)
- Career changers entering education
- Early-phase trainees preparing for classroom delivery

**Focus Areas**:

- Understanding the Teachers’ Standards
- Professional conduct and safeguarding
- Core classroom management and observation skills
- Reflective practice and goal setting

**Structure**:

- One Foundation Term
- Mix of online sessions, guided study, and in-school activities
- Short, practical portfolio aligned with daily duties

**Outcome**:  
Learners achieve a nationally recognised Level 4 Award and a progression route into Applied or Advanced qualifications, supporting their journey toward greater responsibility and, if desired, a teaching career.

**Full title**: *Level 4 Award in Applied Teaching Techniques*

**Purpose**:  
Introduces learners to school-based education roles, building the foundation for effective classroom support and early teaching behaviours.

**Ideal for**:

- New support staff (Teaching Assistants, Cover Supervisors)
- Career changers entering education
- Early-phase trainees preparing for classroom delivery

**Focus Areas**:

- Teachers’ Standards in practice
- Professional conduct and safeguarding
- Core classroom management and observation
- Reflective practice and goal setting

**Structure**:

- One Foundation Term
- Online sessions, guided study, and in-school activities
- Short, practical portfolio linked to daily duties

**Outcome**:

Achieve a nationally recognised Level 4 Award and a clear pathway into Applied or Advanced qualifications, building confidence, responsibility, and readiness for teaching careers.

**Full title**: *Level 4 Award in Advanced Pre-ITT Practice*

**Purpose**:  
This is the most in-depth of the three qualifications, tailored for experienced candidates preparing for QTS via the Assessment Only Route. It focuses on collecting and presenting robust evidence across the Teachers’ Standards, supported by mentor engagement and structured reflection.

**Ideal for**:

- Trainees following the Assessment Only Route (AOR)
- Experienced educators without QTS
- Staff seeking recognition for prior unqualified teaching experience

**Focus Areas**:

- Deep alignment to the Teachers’ Standards
- Evidence mapping and portfolio development
- Critical reflection on professional growth
- Progress tracking and goal-setting with mentor support

**Structure**:

- Three-term journey (Foundation, Applied, and Advanced)
- Biweekly mentor meetings and portfolio checkpoints
- Online submission of mapped evidence against each standard

**Outcome**:  
Trainees complete Phase One with a substantial portfolio and formal recognition via the Level 4 Certificate — positioned to submit for QTS assessment via the Assessment Only Route.
